A new ruling by the European Court of Justice has considerably strengthened passengers' rights. Taken on 30 October, this ruling stipulates that a boarding pass is not required to make a claim for compensation. Thanks to this decision, the compensation process in the event of a disrupted flight has become much simpler. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It should also be noted that this decision serves as case law for all EU Member States and candidate countries. In addition, this ruling overturns the decision taken by the Court of Cassation on 14 February 2018, which established that in France, air passengers wishing to receive compensation had to present their boarding pass in order to prove their presence at the airport on departure. This ruling, which was very favourable to the airlines, allowed them to clear themselves of certain payments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">No<strong>ew step forward in passenger protection<\/strong>  <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Under EU Regulation (EC) No 261\/2004, passengers are currently entitled to compensation of up to \u20ac600 in the event of a flight being more than 3 hours late, cancelled or denied boarding on any journey by air to or from the EU, and on any journey operated by an airline registered in an EU country.  <br><a href=\"https:\/\/givt.com\/fr\/\">https:\/\/givt.com\/fr\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you are one of the unfortunate passengers who have been denied compensation because they were no longer in possession of their boarding pass, we have good news. <\/p>","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":1639,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[136],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1638","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-actualites"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v27.3 (Yoast SEO v27.3) -
