Two 5-star hotels, the Heritage Telfair Golf&Spa and the Heritage Awali Golf&Spa, are grouped together on this vast property, where a castle sits next to an 18-hole golf course. Awarded the \"Small Luxury Hotels\" label, the Telfair Golf&Spa (named after the famous botanical naturalist who lived here in the 19th century) is the second hotel in Mauritius to receive this distinction, demonstrating its expertise in prestigious hotels. It is located 9 km from the Vall\u00e9e des Couleurs nature park and 16 km from the colourful sand dunes of the Terre des Sept Couleurs.<\/p>\n\n\n

With its colonial architecture, typical of Mauritian plantation residences, the Telfair boasts a style that is both British and Old French. Behind the white columns of the lobby that welcomes guests, the view opens onto a wooden bridge spanning a small river. In perspective, a string of palm trees, their foliage bending over a succession of fountains lined with bougainvillea, leads to the clear sandy beach and its crystal-clear lagoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green commitment<\/strong>
In addition to its heavenly setting, restaurants, Seven Colours spa and 18-hole championship Heritage Golf Club, the hotel has trained its butlers at London's prestigious Ivor Spencer School to ensure that service is second to none. This resort, which looks like a sugar estate, opens onto a magnificent tropical garden bathed by the Rivi\u00e8re des Citronniers. It was voted 'Best Golf Resort' in 2010 and 2011 and 'Best Luxury Hotel' in Mauritius at the World Travel Awards 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n

Adjacent to the two Heritage hotels and the villas for rent, a beautiful 18-hole golf course stretches over 100 hectares. Designed by internationally renowned South African architect Peter Matkovich, the course is set between sea and hills, in a naturally undulating landscape of lakes, streams and tropical trees. The championship course (PAR 72) is both technical and varied, and is very popular with golfing guests. The architects have harmoniously integrated the two watercourses that cross the course, creating small lakes to enhance the technical nature of the course while respecting the beauty and tranquillity of the surroundings. With a heavenly view over the lagoon and the hills of the Black River Gorges nature reserve, this golf course is considered to be one of the most beautiful on the island. <\/p>\n\n\n
