Skilfully illustrated by photographer Guillaume de Laubier, I come from here is a book written by Hervé Morin, President of the Normandy Region since 2015, in which he presents the personalities, landscapes and remarkable sites he loves.

This Norman by birth and by heart tells his own story, paying tribute to the men and women who live in this region that stretches from the Cotentin peninsula to the Vexin Normand. His childhood in Fatouville and Cormeilles, his years as mayor of Epaignes, his escapades in Deauville are all pretexts for revealing the figures of this land and the good addresses that he continues to frequent.
In his book, Hervé Morin also recounts some unusual anecdotes, typical of the region?s heritage, such as the Normandy Law still applied in the Channel Islands. And he recalls his passion for horses - he is a breeder himself - born at the Deauville racecourse where his father used to take him.

Guillaume de Laubier's photographs follow this very personal path, revealing landscapes where land and sea meet: Tatihou, the Chausey Islands, Port-en-Bessin, Mont Saint Michel and the customs path at La Hague. An authentic and enchanting coast captured in the evening light that magnifies these places. Not forgetting the architectural heritage, including the superb abbeys of Caen, Saint Wandrille and Jumièges.
With its many sites, panoramas, encounters and portraits, from the Orne to the Manche, this book is an invitation to discover a region that has seduced so many painters and writers.
