Located in the heart of the prestigious Blue Green d'Avrillé golf course, the Château & Golf de La Perrière is a classic residence, representative of the architecture of 17thᵉ century châteaux. Situated in the Loire Valley, near Angers, and listed as a Historic Monument in 1983, this jewel of Anjou heritage was built by Charles-François Goddes de Varennes (1593 -1680) on the foundations of a former 13th-century manor house, acquired in 1603 by this wealthy family. François Goddes de Varennes (1643 - 1701), his son, completed the extension in 1699.

This establishment has many strings to its bow: an 18-hole golf course, beautiful function and seminar rooms, refined bedrooms and a restaurant serving delicious cuisine.
The building is arranged around three U-shaped main buildings with wings opening on to a main courtyard. It is a fine classical château with an architecture that favours harmonious facades, symmetrical volumes and comfortable living. Since its acquisition by the Younan family in 2023, the château has undergone a veritable revival. Committed to preserving the heritage and cultural development of the site, the Younan group has carried out restorations that respect the historic buildings, while adapting the spaces to modern hotel living.

With a total surface area of 2,000 m², La Perrière can accommodate up to 450 people. The main part of the château houses a restaurant, 7 reception rooms and 10 meeting rooms, all of which can be interconnected and adapted. Younan has succeeded in transforming the château into a place that is both convivial and refined, without betraying its historic identity. To this must be added 3000 m² of gardens planted with a variety of species and a chapel.
Timeless elegance

Visitors are impressed from the moment they enter. The lounges, with their patinated woodwork, high ceilings and ancient fireplaces, exude the hushed atmosphere of aristocratic homes. The last occupant of the château, until 1989, was the Count of Saint-Pol. Woodwork, tapestries, paving and chandeliers have all been restored, as has the 17th-century chapel of Saint-André.
The library, lounge and restaurant highlight the architecture while offering contemporary experiences: creative cocktails served in a Renaissance setting, local wine tasting, culinary workshops or guided tours of the premises.
The welcome is very courteous. We are offered a welcome drink in the Renaissance lounge and advice on how to explore the surrounding area.
As you stroll through the gardens, past boxwood-lined paths, ancient fountains, flower beds and orchards, you'll be swept away by the atmosphere and charm of the past.
Le Sévigné: fine dining in elegant surroundings

The restaurant is named after the Marquise de Sévigné, who stayed at La Perrière.
In this stylish dining room, culinary modernity meets the past. The high vaults with restored frescoes, old stonework and exposed beams tell the story of four centuries of history. Large windows look out over the gardens and inner courtyard. Weather permitting, you can enjoy lunch on the terrace overlooking the formal gardens and golf course.
Thierry Le Joly, chef at the Le Sévigné restaurant, puts the spotlight on local produce: vegetables from the surrounding gardens, local meats, cheeses and wines from the Loire.

The chef's boldness is evident in creations such as IGP duck breast from the South-West, accompanied by a turnip tatin and topped with an acacia honey sauce, where the rich, slightly sweet taste of the honey sublimates the tender meat.
The lighter red mullet, topped with a bouillabaisse sauce, is served with echalion confit and rattes du Touquet. A dish that captures the essence of the sea while honouring the root vegetables of the land.
For dessert, the chef's creations are as elegant as they are original: a blackcurrant cream macaroon with blueberries and blackberry coulis, or a black sesame vacherin glacé with halva whipped cream (an oriental confection made from sugar and sesame), where the balance between sweetness and exotic notes extends the pleasure of tasting in this historic setting.
The restaurant is open all year round, every lunchtime and on Friday and Saturday evenings.
